Tenancy Services is the government's free resource for all rental property issues. They provide information sheets, calculators, and can help resolve disputes before they reach the Tribunal.
4. Tenancy Tribunal
The Tenancy Tribunal is a free service for resolving tenancy disputes:
- Filing fee: $20.44 (waived for hardship)
- Mediation: Free, offered before hearing
- Decisions: Legally binding orders
- Maximum claim: $100,000
You don't need a lawyer for Tenancy Tribunal - most people represent themselves.
